BY LAWS
OF
MIDDLE GEORGIA GUN OWNERS ASSOCIATION
ARTICLE I
The name of the corporation is MIDDLE GEORGIA GUN OWNERS ASSOCIATION, INC.
ARTICLE II
Membership cards and lock combination will be issued to all members.
ARTICLE III
The goals of the corporation shall be as follows:
A.To promote private ownership of guns for the safe and wholesome use of the members.
B. To protect the constitutional rights of the citizenry of the United States to “keep and bear arms.”
C. To create an environment for the use of, care of, training of, showing of and safe handling of guns.
D.To teach and instill gun safety with the assistance of any qualified individuals, groups, or organizations.
E. To promote amateur competition in marksmanship for local, regional, and state levels.
F. To lease or own land for private shooting range.
ARTICLE IV
As members of Middle Georgia Gun Owners Association, Inc., we profess to be concerned citizens of the United States of America who happen to love and cherish our right to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment. Our purpose is to provide a clean, safe, and wholesome environment for our members and guests to promote the use of, ownership of, and safe handling of guns. We will fight legislation before Congress that in any way we deem necessary within the law that is aimed at limiting or destroying our rights as gun owners. We will teach gun safety. We further promote sportsmanship and the use of guns for hunting, target shooting, and personal protection should it become necessary. We believe that guns and the private ownership thereof is inherent to the Great American Dream, and it is our purpose that we gather this body with a passion to preserve this heritage now and forevermore.
ARTICLE V
All By-Laws stated are to be strictly followed by each member and clearly understood as a means of accomplishing the mission statement and the goals set forth.
A.Election of officers and directors will be a vote by quorum at the annual meeting to be set by the Board of Directors.
B. Membership dues shall be set by the Board of Directors. Due by January 31st each year.
C. Age of membership: A member must be 18 years of age and legally own and possess a firearm; and family members consist of spouse and children under the age of 18 years.
D.Anyone applying for membership may be subject to a random background check and Board approval.
E. All members should be good citizens of their community.
F. All members must be a member of the NRA.
G.All meetings will be held in order. Anyone who constantly interrupts a meeting will be subject to ejection by the officers and board members.
H.Any member or member’s family who violates any rules or By-Laws set forth by the club will be subject to loss of membership.
I. All By-Laws amended for changes must be presented before the board for approval and recommendation to the membership. Two (2) officers and seven (7) board members will be required to approve or disapprove and amend or change.
J. The board members will serve as a nominating committee and also nominations will be accepted from the membership. All officers and board members must be a member of the NRA. All officers and board members must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. Officers and board members will serve a term of one (1) year. At the end of this term elections will be held again with the aid of the nominating committee and membership.
K. The Middle Georgia Gun Owners Association is a nonprofit organization.
L. In order to aid and promote its ideals and goals, the Middle Georgia Gun Owners Association, Inc. may form affiliations with other organizations of like mind and purpose.
